What is Microneedling?

Looking to reduce acne scarring, stretch marks, texture, even out skin tone and more?
Microneedling may be your solution!

Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that utilizes thin needles which
puncture the skin in order to stimulate collagen production and trigger the body’s natural healing
response. Collagen production provides structure, strength, and support throughout the skin.
This creates the appearance of smooth and less textured skin.
As soon as the deepest layers of your skin are penetrated by the needles, “micro-wounds†are
created. This triggers your body’s wound healing processes to heal your micro wounds
immediately. However, the most dramatic results will not be visible until four to six weeks after
treatment. The longevity of these results can be attributed to the length of your natural cellular
turnover cycle, as well as how long newly produced collagen can last in the skin.
Microneedling typically requires a few months of treatment, divided into several sessions that
vary based on the skin concern. Most dermatologists recommend a series of 4-6 sessions,
spaced 4-6 weeks apart. It’s important to note that you will likely not see significant results after
just one session of microneedling. It can take four to six weeks for your skin to start producing
new collagen, and it can take several months for the full results of microneedling to be visible.
After several treatments, skin will appear visibly more smooth, wrinkle-free, and even.
So, if you’re considering microneedling, be patient! The results are worth the wait.
